Heron Class visit to Windsor Castle
Heron class had a fantastic visit to Windsor Castle.
We took part in a special workshop with Martin who was very impressed with all of our knowledge about the parts of the castle. He told us all about William the Conqueror and the Motte and Bailey castles that were built. Then Mr Ward was made to act the role of King John, collecting taxes and defending his castle. Some of us were guards and some of us were invaders.
When we explored the castle we saw the special flag so we knew that King Charles was actually there!! There were amazing paintings – even some on the ceilings, there were a lot of beautiful gold items and some weapons and armour on display too. We were very lucky to see some guards marching and changing places before we left too.
The class have written some amazing recounts of our special visit. We would like to say a special thank you to the adults who came to help us on the trip.
