*** School Closure until Monday 19th July *** please CLICK for important information***
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following on from the news that we needed to close our KS 2 'bubble' this afternoon, additional members of our staff have now been informed that they have been in contact with a positive case. This means that these members of staff now need to self-isolate for 6 days and are unable to come into work. They have a PCR booked and will inform me if they are positive.
This does not mean that we have had contact with a positive case in lower school. However, due to the number of staff that need to self-isolate, and following Government guidelines, we will need to close our lower school bubble from tomorrow (Tuesday 13th July).
We met briefly today to put together a plan for our online learning provision over the coming 4 days. The teaching team at Longparish are extremely dedicated and the teachers are gathering appropriate, engaging materials as we speak to use for our online learning provision.
KS 2 teachers prepared materials after school (which they are finishing now!) and online learning will begin with a register at 9:30am tomorrow. The teachers will outline the provision for the following days during this meet.
To give KS 1 teachers the time to meet and prepare materials, they will begin their online learning at 1:00pm tomorrow.
The 2 meets tomorrow will enable all families to make sure they are able to log on and access the teaching sessions as well as iron out any glitches. Please note, any questions or queries about the learning or getting onto 'TEAMS' must come via the school office - preferably using the email address - and not addressed to the teachers while they are working with the pupils. As with any technology, there are sometimes ups and downs! Both Mrs Leach and myself will be in the school office to give help where needed or respond to any questions or queries.
I am extremely proud of the way the team are working together positively to create lessons and find activities to support your children over the coming 4 days.
Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support with this matter. It is at times like these that the strong 'family feel' community that we have at Longparish, makes a difference - to the pupils and the staff - as we continue to navigate our way around these challenging times.
All children can return to school on Monday 19th July.
Kind Regards,
Nicky White
