fire service visit

Fire Service visit 0117 hose

On Friday 13th January, two fire fighters called Ron and Dave came to Longparish Primary School because we were learning about safety.

In the morning, they told us two rhymes and they were "Matches, lighters never touch, they can hurt you too much". The next one was "Get out, stay out, call 999".

Then Ron put on his fire suit that was a tunic, helmet, breathing apparatus, boots and leggings. Next, Ron went out of the classroom with his suit on and pretended that there was a fire, we all said "Ahhh".

Afterwards, we went outside to see the fire engine and we sprayed a 'pretend' fire with the hose. Ron sprayed the hose in the air and it made a rainbow and we all got wet.

Then we all went back inside and watched a safety video. Next, we played a fire fighter game and finally we had a fire fighter story.

What a lovely day Heron class had!
