Friends of Longparish School is the name of our Parent Teacher Association, fondly referred to as FoLS. Anyone with an interest in the school is a ‘friend’ and our children benefit a lot from their support.

The main business of FoLS is to raise funds for the school. Thanks to recent efforts our children are able to play games during break times on new picnic tables and take part in new after school clubs using resources provided by FoLS. The school has been able to buy new interactive whiteboards for every classroom due to FoLS funding 50% of them and our children have been on some fabulous school trips subsidised by FoLS. Children in Robin Class love their new theatre set and all of the children enjoy the Christmas party that FoLS pay for and organise.

At the heart of FoLS is the committee, elected at the autumn AGM. There is a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer and other members who suggest fundraising ideas and help organise events. New members are always welcome, but you don’t have to be a member of the committee to get involved.

How you can help

Fundraising events

Every year FoLS organise and run events to raise money for the school. The May Fayre is the biggest fundraiser, but other activities such as quiz nights, film afternoons, school discos and a summer BBQ and campout all make a difference too.

These are great opportunities to get together and create lasting memories for your children while raising funds for the school.

But we need you to support them.

Please get involved in the events whenever you can. Put dates in your diary, invite others to come along and never be shy to volunteer to help. It will always be appreciated!

100+ Club

The 100+ Club is a type of private lottery. You buy numbered tickets that get entered into a monthly draw. When the tickets are drawn, a percentage of the profit is given as the prize, with the remainder going to FoLS. Please click to download, complete and hand in the 100+ Club membership form to make sure your numbers are entered in next month’s draw.
